Don't Look Back; the key to a successful business parting

The Genesee Academy and I have agreed to
a parting of the ways. They wish to have a full-time teacher; to assist in all the thing that teachers in small schools are expected to do, and I have no desire to teach full-time. I didn’t when I started with them 4 years ago, and that has not changed. They would also like someone to teach AP physics. Just because I can teach AP physics doesn’t mean it would spark any joy in my life.
It was a audacious move on both our parts in 2016, for a Jewish man to teach in an Islamic school, and we produced extraordinary results. Apart from the academics, and my students were rarely less than stellar, the relationships we built between the Islamic and Jewish communities have never been stronger. From the first day, the students and the Flint Islamic Center community opened their minds, hearts, and arms to me. I was proud to be accepted. I trust they feel I returned their love and respect.
It was a brilliant four years. While I do not believe in divine intervention, whether by Allah(pbuh) or Adonai, I am convinced that I was in the absolute right place at the absolute right moment in history.
I will not be teaching in September, but I will be busy. My freelance writing calendar is getting booked rapidly. I’ve done 32 audiobook narrations, one is in production right now (The History of the Tour de France, Pt One), and there are two in the queue waiting for me.
My melanoma awareness and education work will continue. Hit me up to speak to your group.
Look for a new FB page, YouTube channel, and podcast from me <working title> The Samurai Teacher. It’ll be real-world stuff about how to succeed as a teacher. I’m also available for speaking engagements. You know a head-hunter looking for an educational consultant, I’m your guy,
As always, news on the 8’s, breaking news at once, and film at 11.
Thanks for reading my stuff.
